Lynn Cheney On Kerry: "This Is Not A Good Man"
The Associated Press reports that Lynn Cheney accused Kerry of pulling a "cheap and tawdry political trick," for invoking her daughter's sexuality in his debate with President Bush:
"Now, you know, I did have a chance to assess John Kerry once more and now the only thing I could conclude: This is not a good man," she said.
"Of course, I am speaking as a mom, and a pretty indignant mom. This is not a good man. What a cheap and tawdry political trick."
This is Kerry's "cheap and tawdry political trick:"
SCHIEFFER: Mr. President, let's get back to economic issues. But let's shift to some other questions here.
Both of you are opposed to gay marriage. But to understand how you have come to that conclusion, I want to ask you a more basic question. Do you believe homosexuality is a choice?
[. . .]
SCHIEFFER: Senator Kerry?
KERRY: We're all God's children, Bob. And I think if you were to talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian, she would tell you that she's being who she was, she's being who she was born as.
There was no legitimate reason to invoke Cheney's daughter. Shame on Kerry!

1. Why did Dick Cheney thank
John Edwards when he mentioned
Mary Cheney?
2. Why did Dick Cheney months
ago volunteer info. that his
daughter Mary is lesbian?
3. Why in 1981 did Lynn Cheney
write a book "Sisters" that
deals with lesbian sex?
Consider all this before you
jump to ridiculous conclusion
that Mr. Kerry was saying
something new and that he
meant anything hurtful?

That was quite the low trick; I remember that even several Dems sitting with me as we watched the debates agreed. Pretty much universal disgust.
