As President Bush calls for unity the Democrats and their allies in the biased main stream media do everything within their power to engage in piddling partisanship.
Yesterday the Senate Judiciary Committee Senate Judiciary Committee postponed a vote on Alberto R. Gonzales's nomination for attorney general on Wednesday after Democrats accused Mr. Gonzales of evading their questions">postponed a vote on Alberto R. Gonzales's nomination for attorney general, after Democrats accused Mr. Gonzales of evading their questions and responding "legalistically."
After the Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted 16-2 to confirm Condoleezza Rice as secretary of state, Democrats forced a similar delay Condoleezza Rice's confirmation until next week rather than grant her Inauguration Day approval.
The Democrats' only purpose is a feeble attempt reduce the joy of President Bush's second Inauguration Day.
According to the New York Post, the delay in Rice's confirmation was forced by Senators Robert Byrd of West Virginia, along with Ted Kennedy and John Kerry. Michele Malkin points out that Byrd was not just a former member of the KKK. Byrd was a recruitment officer for the KKK.
Don't the Democrat's understand how it looks to have a former KKK recruiter leading their picayune charge against the soon to be first black female secretary of state? Obviously not.
If the roles were reversed, and Republicans were childishly delaying the inevitable confirmations of two outstanding minority Americans you can imagine the hullabaloo the main stream media would be making.
So where is the main stream media? The main stream media is continuing its never ending campaign against President Bush.
Virginia Republican Senator George Allen, called the Democrats' delaying tactics, "absurd, petty obstructionism."
That's about right.
At GOPBloggers, Kevin McCullough uses stronger language:
That's right folks - Democrats=Racists - the party of diversity - as long as your white, liberal, and powerful...
The Dems just don't get it.
