Operation Scimitar Detains 22

Operation Scimitar started Thursday with raids in the village of Zaidan, 20 miles southeast of Fallujah.

According to the Associated Press, about 600 U.S. Marines and Iraqi soldiers have detained 22 suspected insurgents so far.

Scimitar is the fourth counterinsurgency operation in less than a month in Iraq's western province.
