I have heard that on the September 1, 2005 edition of the O'Reilly Factor, Franklin Graham challenged the leadership of all major denominations to coordinate housing relief among their churches and challenged each church to house 10 families, saying that this would make a big dent in the problem.
Graham is so right. The Associated Press reports that there are an estimated 377,700 Hurricane Katrina evacuees are in shelters, hotels, homes and other housing in 33 states and Washington, D.C.
According to the National Council of Churches there are over 100,000 churches in the United States. The American Religion Data Archive states there are over 250,000 congregations. If every church took in a few families the evacuee housing problem would be solved.
This is something America's churches should seriously consider. If only some of the churches participated in such an effort, Graham's "big dent" would be achieved.

Please help me find out how to locate a family to take in.
