Too Much To Ask

The Associated Press reminds us yesterday's tragic earthquake struck where the world's most wanted terrorist avoids justice, but maybe not mother nature's wrath:

No evidence suggests that the deadly earthquake that rocked Pakistan on Saturday injured or killed the world's top terror leader, Osama bin Laden.

The quake shook the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan, where bin Laden is believed to be hiding. However, authorities at this point have no information indicating he's been injured or killed, said a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the information's sensitivity.

Thanks to Betsy for the tip.

Mary, I am a fifth generation Californian. I grew up in a small community in Northern California, where the economy was based upon family farms and tourism. We grew pears on the family farm. When I was a little guy we still had some pastures and raised some livestock. I remember butchering a few head of cattle and chickens and a pig or two. I also remember milking cows and churning butter. I even remember sheep being sheared. We also planted a few acres of corn and tomatoes which we sold to local markets to supplement the meager income derived from the pears.

I went to San Jose State, where I majored in political science and minored in economics. I earned a Masters degree in a joint program at UC Davis. I moved East in the late 70s, went to Law School in New York, and have lived in Connecticut since 1981. Thus California Yankee.

I have been blogging at California Yankee for going on three years. I keep telling myself I should post an explanation about the name, but that always gets put off. You know, life gets in the way.

First of all I see you go by the name of California Yankee
Could you tell me how you came to this?? It is interesting.
Me, I am from the South,

Also there were so many things that were acts of war when Clinton was in office. Nothing was ever done, should have been. He was the President and it was his duty to protect this country. President Bush did step in and do
something. I back President Bush. Our men are fighting, losing life or limbs to protect us. I thank our LORD we have men who go for me.
America has been a great powerful nation, but things can not keep going the way they are. Our children are paying a great price for what women
have done to us. I am a woman, but I am from the old school. I believe in male leadership here, the way it used to be.
