Barking like a dog, howling at the moon ....
The full moon was two days ago, but the moonbats came out today.
Under the guise of honoring a great American, Democratic leaders instead brought shame upon themselves in an unrelenting outbreak of shameful political self promotion.
New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin exhibited symptoms of Pat Robertson syndrome, saying God is mad at America and black communities:
"Surely God is mad at America. He sent us hurricane after hurricane after hurricane, and it's destroyed and put stress on this country," Nagin said as he and other city leaders commemorated Martin Luther King Day. "Surely he doesn't approve of us being in Iraq under false pretenses. But surely he is upset at black America also. We're not taking care of ourselves."
Joking that he may appear to have "post-Katrina stress disorder," Nagin, who is black, talked of an imaginary conversation with the late civil rights leader. They "talked," he said, while he was thinking Monday about what to say at the ceremony outside City Hall to kick off a walking parade in King's honor.
"I said, 'What is it going to take for us to move on and live your dream and make it a reality?' He said, 'I don't think that we need to pay attention any more as much about other folks and racists on the other side.' He said, 'The thing we need to focus on as a community — black folks I'm talking about — is ourselves.'"
Al Gore assailed the government's formerly secret program of intercepting electronic communications where there is a reasonable basis to conclude that one party to the communication is a member of al Qaeda, affiliated with al Qaeda, or a member of an organization affiliated with al Qaeda, or working in support of al Qaeda. Gore did so by comparing the current intercept program to the FBI's wiretapping
of Martin Luther King Jr.'s telephone conversations:
Gore, speaking at DAR Constitution Hall, said his concerns are especially important on the King holiday because the slain civil rights leader was among thousands of Americans whose private communications were intercepted by the U.S. government.
But the Democrats' presidential heir apparent, Senator Hillary Clinton, was the most outrageous. Clinton, speaking at the Canaan Baptist Church of Christ in Harlem called the Bush administration one of the worst in history and saying the House of Representatives is run like a "plantation:"
"When you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run, it has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about," Clinton, D-N.Y., told the crowd at the Canaan Baptist Church of Christ in Harlem.
[. . .]
I predict to you that this administration will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country.
If Clinton, Gore and Nagin truly wanted to honor Martin Luther King Jr. as a great American, they could have followed the example of President Bush. The President, instead of hurling insults, paid homage to King by remembering Kings' strength of character and his leadership and recognizing there is still more to do to achieve King's dream.

Al Gore? Isn't he the landlord who refused to unclog his tenant's sewer?
