The New York Times reports Lamont, Connecticut’s millionaire anti-war Democratic Senate candidate, criticizes Lieberman’s 1998 rebuke of President Clinton over Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinski:
Mr. Lamont said on Wednesday night that he shared Mr. Lieberman’s “moral outrage” over Mr. Clinton’s sexual misbehavior, but Mr. Lamont was harsh in attacking a speech that was praised as principled by many leaders in both parties and helped propel the Connecticut senator to national prominence.
“You don’t go to the floor of the Senate and turn this into a media spectacle,” Mr. Lamont said of Mr. Lieberman’s remarks eight years ago this month.
This is a pathetic attempt by Lamont to revise history. When news of Clinton's Monica Lewinski affair broke it was instantly a "media spectacle." News anchors Rather, Brokaw, and Jennings all left Cuba, where they were covering Pope John Paul's visit, in order to report on Clinton’s sexual misconduct.

This Lamont guy has some chutzpah, huh? -And I don't mean that in a good way! Look, he's already got Hil's backing, so why not "kiss up" to her a little? Of course, she may have enjoyed Lieberman condemning her husband somewhat, if she's even a bit human. So it's a political game. I hope Lieberman wins the general election, so Hil and the Dems all have to kiss his ass.
