A new Gallup New Hampshire poll finds Mitt Romney leading among likely Republican voters. The same poll finds Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama tied among likely Democratic voters:

Republicans
Romney 34%
McCain 27%
Giuliani 11%,
Huckabee 9%
Paul 9%
Democrats
Clinton 32%
Obama 32%
Edwards 18%
According to USA Today, the survey's fundamental finding is uncertainty:
More than four of 10 voters in each party say they may change their minds before the Jan. 8 primary.According to Gallup, although New Hampshire Republican voters indicate that illegal immigration and the economy are the top issues, a majority say the leadership and vision of the candidates will be more important to them than the candidates' positions on the issues.
Democratic voters seem to be buying Obama's campaign argument that he can best bring "change" to Washington:
Specifically, 42% choose Obama as the candidate who has "new ideas that would help solve the country's problems." That is more than double the proportion who attribute this characteristic to Clinton (19%) and Edwards (20%).Dr. Frank Newport summarizes the poll's findings in the following video:Voters also view Obama as the candidate most "in touch with the average voter," by a 37% to 28% margin over Edwards. Clinton places third on this measure at 19%.
The USA Today/Gallup Poll was conducted December 17 through 19 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percent.
