Air France Escorted In U.S.?

Charles Johnson, at Little Green Footballs, has an interesting post suggesting that Air France Flight 68 was escorted across the U.S. yesterday.

Shiplord Kirel, a LGF reader listening to to NORAD and FAA radio traffic on a scanner, reported:

NORAD intercepted Air France flight 68 over the US earlier this evening and has escorted it across the country.

The LGF reader, based on a comment posted on FreeRepublic.com, later commented (number 44):

2 F-16s that were taking a handoff from 2 other F-16s near Shafter, California. The first two apparently made the original interception as soon as the flight crossed from Canada.

Air France 68 was one of the Flights canceled last week. Something sure spooked the feds.
