Alan, at The Command Post, asks: Did The Terrorists Just Win?
The question is prompted by this JSOnline article about two Wisconsin malls reducing "walking hours" as a terrorism precaution.
Both malls, Forest Mall in Fond du Lac and Bay Park Square near Green Bay, are owned by Simon Property Group. The mall walking restrictions were imposed on December 23, when the federal terrorism alert was raised to orange.
Unbeknownst to me, some people get their exercise by walking mall corridors.
I fail to see how this measure would help to prevent a terrorist attack.
If you combine this mall nonsense with Congressman Shays advising New Years Eve celebrants that he would avoid New York's Times Square, you have to wonder what happened to that good old American defiance.
Shame on the Simon Property Group and Congressman Shays!
No Alan. the terrorist haven't won, but if we aren't careful, some of our mall owners and public officials just might make the fight pointless.
