The Boston Herald reports that Hillary Clinton endorsed Kerry's slandering Republicans as crooked liars:
Clinton, in a speech and question-and-answer session for National Public Radio, backed Kerry's unguarded comments - made near a microphone at a Chicago rally - about "crooked'' GOP attackers.
"It's quite descriptive of reality," Clinton said to applause from the largely partisan audience at the John F. Kennedy Library, where she received the museum's Distinguished American Award.
Kerry's slanderous remarks and Hillary's endorsement of Kerry's slander degrades the tone of our national debate. It is unfortunate that Kerry and the Democrats have chosen to engage in a campaign of name calling instead of ideas. As I posted previously, Kerry, and now Hillary, owes America an apology.
Cranial, Hillary did use the old rant. From the Boston Herald article: "Clinton expanded the GOP-led 'conspiracy' to a 'vast right-wing media inter-locking network and infrastructure.'"

In defamation law, isn't truth a defense? If so, and the alleged defatation, slanderous accusations, are in fact true, I would think the lawyers on both sides would love to hash out the issue in court.
Of course, NYTimes v. Sulliven would add a layer of complexity for the plaintiffs, but what the hey! It is the publicity they're after, not exhoneration.

Surprised she didn't pull out the tried and true, "Great RightWing Conspiracy" rant.
