Last week the Associated Press reported that senators John McCain and Edward Kennedy are drafting an immigration bill that would subject illegal aliens to fines, but allow them to remain in the United States and earn a chance to apply for permanent residency.
Under their proposal, illegal aliens would get three-year visas that could be renewed once. After completing six years of work, the immigrants would be eligible to apply for permanent legal residency:
Deporting the 10 million to 12 million illegal immigrants in the country is not practical, McCain told midshipmen during a guest lecture.
"There are some who say send them back to their countries," McCain said. "It's not possible. It's not going to happen."
An editorial in The Tribune-Review had this response to Senator McCain:
With all due respect, Mr. McCain, it would be possible if our "leaders" stopped spending time, money and energy on hatching the latest amnesty program to end all amnesty programs and instead enforced the laws on the books.
Illegals must be dealt with harshly, swiftly and without excuses or rationalizations. Find them. Arrest them. Deport them. Anything less and what truly is a swarm will suffocate this nation.
hey there is definetely unreal to think about deportation of more than 8 million illegal aliens, as i think so far the govnt. should act right away to get this inocent and hard worker people out of the shadows and stop keeping their taxes, hey they have the right, like everyone here on this US land to live in peace and security that this country needs to have ASAP.

SINCE LAST OVER 6 YEARS WE ARE DEBATING ON THE ISSUE WHICH IS MULTIPLYING EVERY DAY.
HOW CAN YOU BUILD A SECURITY WALL WITH 10 MILLION HOLES IN IT - ITS NOT WORTH WASTING A MINUTE. THIS IS A TOP PRIORITY ISSUE.
THE LAST ATTEMPT OF REGISTRATION MISERABLLY FAILED.
CONSIDER OFFERING EMPLOYMENT VISA OR ANY OTHER OF THE FOLLOWINGS. THE ONLY CONDITIONS SHOULD BE THAT IN RANDOM CHECK IF ANY OF THE INFORMATION FOUND INCORRECT WOULD DISQUALIFY THE APPLICANT AND WILL LEAD TO IMMEDIATE NON-TRIAL DEPORTATION.
UNDER 5 YEARS NO JOB RED CARD
(VALID FOR 180 DAYS RENEWABLE WITH JOB)
UNDER 5 YEARS STAY 1 YEAR JOB YELLOW CARD
5-10 YEARS STAY 3 YEARS JOB BLUE CARD
OVER 10 YEARS STAY OVER 3 YEARS
JOB/TAX/HEALTH INS/ GREEN CARD
ALL THE APPLICANTS MUST GO THROUGH A BACKGROUND CHECK.
ALL THE AMENSTIES IN THE PAST DID NOT CLEAN THE SLATE AND THEY CARRIED OVER A BIG CHUNK OF NON-QUALIFIED ONES WHO WERE NOTEVEN DEPORTED LEADING TO UN-ETHICAL AND OTHER UNFAIR MEANS LIKE MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE ETC.
INCLUDE EVERY ONE WHO IS INTERESTED TO STAY AND WORK EVEN THE ONES WHO ARE JUST HERE.
THIS WILL GIVE OPPORTUNITIES TO HARD WORKING HONEST PEOPLE REWARDING AMERICAN DREAM AND WILL BRING ALL ALIENS ON RECORD.
THEN CONTROL THE BORDERS AND ENTRY POINTS WITH THE STRICKTEST OPTIONS WITH SUCCESS.
REPEAT THE AMENSTY EVERY YEAR TO GAUGE THE PERFORMANCE OF CONTROL SYSTEMS.
JUST A THOUGHTB

this is a country of immigrants, except the natives no one owns this land. Most of the settlers came from europe. Why this big deal about illegal aliens, most of these aliens are working here already and are currently employed, dont be a hypocrite, the food you eat is grown by them, the garden you enjoy is done by them, the restaurant food is cooked by them, the cleaning job is done by them, go back in time and find out about how your family came here undocumented.
The only way is to absorb these people whom you call illegal aliens and let them live here just in peace as the native indians allowed you to live here. You know it is impossible to send 14million back to their countries. What Mc cain and kennedy are doing is the right thing. let them pay a fine of $2000.00 dollars.

To find, arrest and deport 10 million people is a dream, how will cost to do it?
You need to put your foots on the ground and talk about facts, no dreams.
The illegal aliens had broke the law, that's a fact; but if have a clean backgrown, they speak english and pay a $2,000.00 fee, they should have the righte to atay in the country and to avoid more to come illegaly in the same proposal is contemplated temporary permisions to have order in the people who want to come and work in US as our parents did.
