The Senate Avoids A Meltdown

Senators reached a compromise on judicial nominees. According to the Associated Press, the compromise clears the way for confirmation votes on many of President Bush's stalled judicial nominees, leaves others in limbo and preserves Senate filibuster rules.

Sounds like the grownups prevailed.

You know what ... I'm going to have to rethink my disappointment over this "deal." Let's look on the bright side: Democrats described the three nominees that will now move forward with every pejorative they could muster only to turn around and set in motion a process leading to their confirmation.
The biggest scaremongers warned of a "theocracy of Christian conservatives" so I say LONG LIVE THE THEOCRACY. LIFETIME APPOINTMENTS!!! WOO HOOOOO!!!
