Along with hundreds of other Blogs, California Yankee is participating in the great Hurricane Relief Blog Day. Participating blogs are soliciting donations for the relief of Hurricane Katrina victims.
I am not recommending any particular charity. Just give something to one of those listed in Help Hurricane Katrina Victims or choose one or more that you prefer, just give what you can.
I don't see how anyone can not be moved to help the Hurricane Katrina victims. Twice today I was literally moved to tears, I mean sobbing, while listening to coverage of the Katrina aftermath. That is something I just don't experience. Maybe it has something to do with our experience with The Fire. Even as our house was burning I had plenty of help, I felt like I had the undivided attention of the fire and police departments; neighbors came to our assistance with a place for us to stay - even in the middle of the night; I felt like I had support from the insurance company, and my builder of choice was in the house seven hours after I discovered the flames. Katrina's victims feel abandoned, helpless and hopeless. All they see is destruction. Give them some help and some hope.
At Instapundit, Glenn Reynolds is keeping a comprehensive list of bloggers participating in the great Hurricane Relief Blog Day.
