The Toronto Sun reports on a speech CNBC's Hardball host Chris Matthews gave to political science students at the University of Toronto yesterday:
"The period between 9/11 and Iraq was not a good time for America. There wasn't a robust discussion of what we were doing," Matthews said.
"If we stop trying to figure out the other side, we've given up. The person on the other side is not evil -- they just have a different perspective."
Planning to fly airliners into the World Trade Center is definitely evidence of a "different perspective," but you will never convince me that someone who can sanction such a act isn't evil. How can a so-called commentator who spouts such lunacy host a national current affairs show?
