Reuters reports 's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad doubts the Holocaust and says Israel be moved to Europe.
"Some European countries insist on saying that Hitler killed millions of innocent Jews in furnaces and they insist on it to the extent that if anyone proves something contrary to that they condemn that person and throw them in jail," IRNA quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.
"Although we don't accept this claim, if we suppose it is true, our question for the Europeans is: is the killing of innocent Jewish people by Hitler the reason for their support to the occupiers of Jerusalem?" he said.
"If the Europeans are honest they should give some of their provinces in Europe -- like in Germany, Austria or other countries -- to the Zionists and the Zionists can establish their state in Europe. You offer part of Europe and we will support it."
Anyone who doubts that the Nazis slaughtered six million Jews simply because they were jews should visit Dachau Concentration camp site consider the size of the facility, the ovens used to cremate bodies, and the map of the hundreds of camps used by Hitler's Nazis in the effort to eliminate jews. I found the experience of visiting Dachau very sobering
Ahmadinejad's statements, like his Hitler-like call for Israel to be "wiped off the map," require even more international condemnation of the ian leader and is additional evidence as to why the ian mullocracy cannot be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons.
Diplomatic pressure must be ramped up against until Ahmadinejad retracts and apologizes for his remarks increasing tension in the Middle East. must be made to feel like a pariah until it admits it is its president's statements are admitted to be "unacceptable."
UPDATE: The U.S., U.N. and Israel condemn ian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's statement expressing doubt about the Holocaust and suggesting Israel be moved to Europe.
According to Reuters, U.S. State Department deputy spokesman Adam Ereli said:
"These latest remarks ... are clearly appalling and reprehensible. They certainly don't inspire hope among any of us in the international community that the government of is prepared to engage as a responsible member of that community."
Ereli said the remarks appeared to be part of a "consistent pattern of rhetoric that is both hostile and out of touch with the values that the rest of the international community lives by."
had pledged to uphold international norms and must be held to those standards but he declined to say what, if any, action the United States might be inclined to take in response.
The U.N. issued the following statement attributable to the Spokesman for the Secretary-General on the Holocaust denial by the President of the Islamic Republic of :
The Secretary-General was shocked to see the remarks attributed to H.E. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of the Islamic Republic of , in which he reportedly cast doubt on the truth of the Holocaust and suggested that the State of Israel should be moved from the Middle East to Europe.
The Secretary-General recalls that only last month the General Assembly passed a resolution which “rejects any denial of the Holocaust as an historical event, either in full or in part”. He urges all member states to combat such denial, and to educate their populations about the well established historical facts of the Holocaust, in which one third of the Jewish people were murdered, along with countless members of other minorities.
He also recalls his statement of 27 October, in which he reminded all member states that Israel is a long-standing Member of the United Nations with the same rights and obligations as every other Member, and that, under the United Nations Charter, all Members have undertaken to refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any State.
The Jerusalem Post reports Israeli officials condemned Ahmadinejad's comments as "outrageous and even racist:"
"Unfortunately, this is not the first time that the president of has made outrageous and even racist remarks concerning Jews and Israel," Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev said.
"Only recently the UN General Assembly condemned Holocaust denial and here the ian leader is showing himself to be fundamentally contradicting the norms of international behavior and decency," he added. "I hope that anyone who had illusions about the true nature of the ian regime has received these recent remarks as a wake up call."
Unfortunately, Matthew is right. While these statements are unacceptable to Westerners, they are "red meat" for those in control of Iran. They are probably also acceptable throughout a good portion of the Islamic world.

Better yet, go to Birkenau. The vastness speaks for itself in the most tragic and overwhelming language imaginable. It dwarfs Dachau or Auschwitz. The shear enormity can hardly be comprehended.
The sad thing about the Iranian president's remarks is that he is not at all out of the Iranian mainstream. Often overlooked in our coverage of Iran is that it has some quasi-democratic characteristics. Ahmadinejad has been having trouble (notably in appointing an oil minister) with the even more reactionary, anti-Zionist forces in parliament. He says things like this to enhance his credibility with forces inside his own country. Sad but true.

The Holy Spirit's message on The Christian Prophet blog predicts a very major war starting in the Mideast. This could be like a World War III. Apparently it is very important to pray that the Iranian people remove their current leaders.

Europe killed so many Jews so they must offer some of their land to Jews not someone other's land. If someone does not agree this statement, do not just get angry but critisize logically.

Well, by that logic how about giving each of the 1979-80 American hostages 444 acres of land in downtown Tehran as compensation?
