Republican Senators Sam Brownback of Kansas, Mike DeWine of Ohio, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania joined Democrats Joseph Biden of Delaware, Dick Durbin of Illinois, Russ Feingold of Wisconsin, Dianne Feinstein of California, Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, Herbert Kohl of Wisconsin, Patrick Leahy of Vermont and Charles Schumer of New York voting to reward illegal aliens by not only allowing those in the country illegally to remain in the country, but to also permit illegal aliens to apply for citizenship.
If enacted into law this illegal alien amnesty bill will ensure that an ever greater number of illegal aliens will continue to sneak across the border. And why not, we continue to encourage the tidal wave of illegal aliens flooding the country. By allowing those that disregard the nation's immigration laws to remain here and pursue citizenship, the 12 Judiciary Committee members send a message - get into the United States anyway you can because eventually you will legalized.
That message will be heard loud and clear just as it was with the adoption of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 ("IRCA"). That "immigration reform" legalized 4 million illegal aliens. IRCA has been a monumental failure. Twenty years later there 12 million illegal aliens to legalize. If amnesty is now given to these millions, then we should only expect that twenty years from now we will have to consider granting amnesty to 36 million more illegal aliens.
You have 500,000 illegals marching in L.A. waiving Mexican flags. Billboards proclaiming that Los Angeles is part of Mexico. Proponents of a concept called Aztlan, meaning 7 Southwest states that should be returned to Mexico. Believers in "la raza" that refer to American citizens as "occupiers." The Mexican government aiding and abetting millions of Mexicans to cross the border, and "settle" in the Southwest (with the same goals Israelis had in "settling" the West Bank/Gaza). These people want "their" country back folks.
Thank you, Sens. Kennedy, McCain, etc. Please, open the gates a little wider. That big, wood horse can't fit through it yet.
