The Manhattan District Attorney has shut down a $3 billion terror-finance pipeline. According to the New York Post, profits from drug deals and other crimes flowed through one of the largest and most prominent banks in New York to Middle East fanatics:
Evidence developed in the course of a three-year probe, which has already resulted in charges against other New York-based financial institutions, revealed that about $3 billion that flowed through the account over a two-year period was going to terror groups Hamas, al Qaeda and Hezbollah, Morgenthau said.
The good news is that this terror banking was discovered. One would hope that four years after September 11 terror attacks how terrorist groups, rogue states and drug lords would not be able to take advantage of the U.S. financial system.
