Overshadowed by Connecticut's Senatorial race, the state does have a gubernatorial election in November.
the new Quinnipiac poll finds Republican incumbent Gov. Jodi Rell leading Democratic challenger John DeStefano two to one, 64 percent to 32 percent among likely voters.
According to the Q-poll, 44 percent of likely Democratic voters, 88 percent of Republican voters and 69 percent of independent voters back Rell.
Quinnipiac University Poll Director Douglas Schwartz, noted Connecticut voters bi-partisan tendencies:
While observers bemoan the polarization of American politics, Connecticut voters are taking a bi-partisan path, with most Republicans backing a Democratic Senator and large numbers of Democrats backing a Republican Governor.
The Quinnipiac poll was conducted August 10 - 14, and has a margin of error of +/- 3 percent.
I stumbled across your blog while I was in the process of doing some online research. I actually think this is a good thing; I believe voters should vote for whoever they think will do the best job, not whoever is from a particular party.
