ABC News' blog "The Blotter" reports the CIA is moving additional assets into Pakistan in the effort to find Osama bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al Zawahri:
"Reports that the trail has gone stone cold are not correct," said one U.S. official. "We are very much increasing our efforts there," the official said.People familiar with the CIA operation say undercover officers with paramilitary training have been ordered into Pakistan and the area across the border with Afghanistan as part of the ramp-up.
Last week, Director of National Intelligence McConnell told the Senate Armed Services Committee Osama bin Laden is in Pakistan reestablishing al-Qaeda training camps. I asked what we were going to do about it. Despite "assurances" to the contrary, it appears something is being done about the resurgence of bin Laden's al-Qaeda in Northern Pakistan.
