64 DAYS AND COUNTING
It has been 64 days since the President sent Congress an emergency war spending bill to provide the funds our troops urgently need.
Democrats justify their pork-ladened attempt to legislate defeat in Iraq by saying they are following the will of the American people.
The Democrats' reliance upon that argument is misplaced.
A new AP-Ipsos poll finds 57 percent disapprove of the Democrats' handling of Iraq.
Congress scored its highest approval in a year - 40 percent. Among self-described political independents, who gave 57 percent of their votes to Democrats last November, only 32 percent approve of the job Congress is doing; 36 percent favor the way Democrats are handling Iraq.
Republicans were less supportive of Congress, with 86 percent found to disapprove.
The Democrats hypocrisy is too much for Americans to approve. Can the Democrats really expect approval when they claim to support the troops at the same time they fail to send legislation to the President to provide the money required to support our troops fighting the war? Don't forget that the legislation the Democrats have failed to send to the President was carefully crafted to ensure a veto.
The Democrats' claims to support the troops fall flat when their words are countered by action and inaction military leaders say will have profound negative impacts upon military readiness.
UPDATE: My RedState colleague Moe Lane has tracked down the poll data which is available here in pdf format.
