CALIFORNIA YANKEE: Atlantis returns to space

Space shuttle Atlantis is safely in orbit with six astronauts and a full load of spare parts for the International Space Station.

Atlantis lifted off from Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 2:28 p.m. EST.

Atlantis will reach the space station Wednesday, an will return to Earth the day after Thanksgiving.
