When the Pelosi/Reid left-wing Democrats took control of Congress on January 4, 2007, the national debt was $8,670,596,242,973.04 -- that's $8.67 trillion.
Today, the national debt is 12,039,319,107,488.80 -- more than $12 trillion.
That is a 38% increase in the national debt in the less than three year period that Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats have controlled the federal government's purse strings.
Maybe President Obama finally sees the light. After spending and borrowing more than anyone can imagine, Obama warns that too much debt could fuel a double-dip recession. Unfortunately, Obama's epiphany is probably just a temporary result of spending time in China -- the biggest critic of Obama's massive spending.
