The Republican Governors Association is on the air with its first ad in Connecticut.

The ad hits former Stamford Democrat Mayor Dan Malloy’s record of fiscal irresponsibility.

In the latest poll, released yesterday, Republican Tom Foley has reduced Malloy's lead to 4 percent. A week ago the same poll had Malloy ahead by 6 percent. The poll also found President Obama’s job approval rating in Connecticut dropped from 48 percent to 42 percent.
