Herman Cain, a conservative radio host and former business executive, has officially entered the 2012 presidential campaign.
You can watch Cain's "Presidential Announcement" video below:
Cain, in January, was the first potential GOP 2012 candidate to announce the formation of a presidential exploratory committee.
Cain's campaign got a huge boost with his performance in the May 5 South Carolina debate. A Frank Luntz focus group declared Cain the clear winner ahead of the four other participants.
Pundits still consider Cain's candidacy a long shot. He addresses his long shot status head on:
People who say that Herman Cain has no chance of winning the nomination for the Republican Party, or win the in presidency, I simply say "Thank you." Because all my life, I have been in situations where I wasn't supposed to become VP of Pillsbury, I wasn't supposed to be able to turn Godfather's Pizza around. I wasn't supposed to succeed in climbing the corporate ladder in corporate America. So to the people who say I don't have a chance, I say "Thank you." Because that inspires me.
Gallup reports that of all the announced and potential Republican candidates Gallup tracks that have name recognition below 50%, only Cain creates strong enthusiasm among those who recognize him.
Go Herman GO!!!
