Late Night Comedians On Obama's Trip

Jay Leno:

"Barack Obama back from his big European tour. Did you see him in Europe? People were cheering him, holding up signs, blowing him kisses. And that was just the American media covering the story."

David Letterman:

Over the "last ten days," Barack Obama "was traveling overseas, campaigning in Europe and everywhere." And this trip was "so successful" that Obama "is actually thinking about campaigning here in the United States."

Spitzer's New Gig

Saturday Night Live decided to take a break from the shows recent series of opening skits favoring Hillary over Obama and made some fun of New York's former fornicator in Chief -- former Democratic Governor Elliot Spitzer. Watch the skit in the following video:

SNL's obvious tilt toward Hillary was widely noticed. I posted about here. Even the New York Times reported on it:

Over the past three weeks “SNL” has put itself back into the national discussion — not a bad place for any television show to be, as Mr. Michaels acknowledged — first with a series of sketches that have centered on the premise that Mrs. Clinton has been the target of a vengeful press that sees Mr. Obama with stars in its eyes and also with the overt (albeit comic) endorsement of Mrs. Clinton by Tina Fey, the former “SNL” star who returned on Feb. 23 to be the host of the first show after the recent writers’ strike. “Bitches get stuff done,” Ms. Fey said, using herself as an example.

In the weeks that followed, some commentators have cited the comedy bits as aids that have helped revive Mrs. Clinton’s campaign with primary victories in Ohio and Texas. A study by the Pew research organization found that critical coverage of Mr. Obama had increased in the news media after the sketches.

Hillary shouldn't be all that excited about the favorable attention she got from Saturday Night Live. Acording to Hillary impersonator Amy Poehler, the show's mantra is that it's against "whoever is winning>."

Wait, We've Changed Our Minds

Saturday Night Live continues its series of opening skits making fun of Obama to Hillary's benefit. This week, the show's skit focused on Hillary's infamous ad featuing the 3:00 a.m. phone call. The skit ends with Hillary impersonator Amy Poehler encouraging voters to call the Democratic National Committee to tell them "Wait, we've changed our minds . . . . It's not too late, we can still turn this around. Yes we can."

Colbert Interviews Huckabee

Colbert's recent interview of Mike Huckabee is one of the funniest things I've seen.

I especially like the outsourcing bit:

Colbert: You do support outsourcing jobs, don't you?
Huckabee: As long as it's not mine.

But Huckabee's pledge to "storm hell with a water pistol" to catch Osama bin Laden, is even better. Enjoy.
